ICD-10 must be used to report all medical services provided on or after October 1, 2015. The ICD-10 coding system system consists of two separate code sets; ICD-10-CM is the diagnosis code set which replaced ICD-9-CM Volume 1 and ICD-10-PCS is the procedure code set which replaced ICD-9-CM Volume 3.
Physicians, clinics and other providers need only ICD-10-CM coding product. Hospitals and payers need an ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
Complimentary Copy of the ICD-10-CM 2018 Coding Guidelines
The ICD-10-CM 2018 Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting were released August 9, 2017 by the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS). As a result of the late release, the 2018 Guidelines are not included in the first printing of ICD-10-CM 2018 by any publisher.
PMIC is including a printed copy of the Guidelines with each ICD-10-CM book (first printing) scheduled to ship in early September. Subsequent printings will include the revised Guidelines.
In the meantime we want to make sure our customers have access to the revised Guidelines. You can download a complete and complimentary copy of the ICD-10-CM 2018 Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting, with additions and revisions highlighted in red, by clicking the following link:
